Poker on TV Update, August 12, 2007

This week's World Poker Tour episode is Poker by the Book: Chapter Two. It's an invitational, made-for-TV single-table tournament featuring poker players who've written books: Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Johnny Chan, Dan Harrington, Antonio Esfandiari, and Tom McEvoy. I wish they'd included the best-known poker authors: David Sklansky and Ed Miller.

Tuesday's WSOP broadcasts on ESPN are:
  • 8 pm: Event 13, World Championship pot-limit hold 'em (3 day event), $5,000 buyin. The final table included Allen Cunningham, Humberto Brenes, Gavin Griffin, Jeffrey Lisandro, Alan Jaffray, Jason Lester, Joe Patrick, Raymond Rice, and Keith Lehr.
  • 9 pm: Event 32, Seven Card Stud (2 day event), $2,000 buyin. The final table included Daniel Negreanu, Howard Lederer, Jeffrey Lisandro, Nickolas Frangos, Nesbitt Coburn, Severin Walser, Gregory Pappas, David Brody, and Farshad Ben Cohen.

  1. Howard Lederer didn't actually make the final table of Event 32, $2,000 7 Card Stud. He busted out in 9th place, and only 8 make the final table of stud events at the WSOP.
